Punjab budget 2019-20
The governor has convened a budget session of the Punjab Assembly after Eid on June 13. The annual budget for the year 2019-20 and supplementary budget for 2018-19 will be presented on Friday (June 14) at 3 pm.
A gazette notification to the effect was issued by the Assembly Secretariat here on Monday. Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will preside this 10th session of the 17th Assembly.
Overall budget volume is expected to be Rs.1430 billion after allocation of Rs400 billion under development while the provincial government would not impose new taxation.
Education and health departments are prioritized under development programs as Rs52 billion and Rs50 billion allocations are suggested for education and health sectors respectively.
The amount of Ad-hoc Relief Allowance-2019 will be sublet to Income Tax, will be admissible during leave and the entire period of LPR except during extraordinary leave and will not be treated as part of emoluments for the purpose of calculation of Pension/gratuity and recovery of House Rent. will not be admissible to the employees dunng the tenure of tneir posting/deputation abroad, and will be admissible to the employees on their repatriation from post ng/deputation abroad at the rate and amount wh ch would have been admissible to them had they not been posted abroad
The term ‘Basic Pay’ for the purpose of Ad-hoc Relief Allowance-2019 will also include the amount of the personal pay granted on account of the annual increment (s) beyond the maximum of the existing pay
How Many percents raise in salary and pension of government employees by Finance Department Punjab
Finance Department Punjab has recommended a ten percent raise in salary and pension of government employees in the upcoming (2019-20) provincial budget.
The finance department sources have revealed that Rs530 billion will be spent on salaries and pensions of government employees for the next fiscal year. Out of the total sum, Rs320 billion will be paid as salaries and Rs210 billion as pensions.
